Post subject:  North Star Alliance v Major Oak Alliance
After the goalless draw this afternoon, the crowds for this evening's game were hoping for a big scoreline, but by half-time people were beginning to wonder when the first goal of the tournament would arrive. Both sides played very well and goal opportunities were few and far between and there was nothing to seperate the two sides.

Finally, mid-way through the second half, Major Oak midfielder and captain Keith Moon decided to try his luck from 30 yards and opened up the scoring with what may well turn out to be the goal of the tournament, leaving NSA keeper Andy Reece without a chance. The goal prompted NSA to push forward for an equaliser and the game began to open up, but their attacking play worked against them as MOA grabbed a second before the end, this time coming from a fine header from MOA striker Junior Santos.

Although neither team deserved to lose this game, the neutrals will be happy with the result as NSA now have their work cut out if they are to progress through to the knock-out stages.
