A very close game in which neither team really deserved to lose, and for a long time it looked like being a stalemate. Neither team looked like making a breakthrough until 15 minutes from the end when QE striker Martin Jenkins fired through a crowd of legs in the box to claim the opener. ROE pushed for an equaliser but were caught on the break with 2 minutes to go, Jenkins again applying the finish. ROE will feel disappointed to get nothing from this game, and having lost both opening games will now be hard pressed to make the knock-out stages. Conversely, QE will feel slightly lucky to have taken all 3 points, but won't be complaining, and with 2 wins from 2 games, look likely to make it to the last 8. |
