The comp will rotate the following 4 comps in the listed order through weeks 1 to 30 with week 31 having Pick Eight and Top Draw comps so all games are played the same amount of times.

How each comp is scored will be posted at the end of this initial thread. Once scored the actual points awarded based on 8 entrants (if more choose to enter then I will update the scoring accordingly) are as follows -
1st...15
2nd...12
3rd...10
4th....8
5th....6
6th....4
7th....2
8th....1
So for example you win Away Goals on week 1 and there are 8 entrants you get 15 points. Second will get 12 and the remaining 6 will go from 10 to 1 point based on position. Any tied positions will get the same points with the next position getting the number of points remaining. Eg Two people are second so they get 12 points each in the example above and then the next place is 4th and they get 8 points.
The relevant details for each leg of the comp will be posted in blocks of four so you can make your selections for the next four weeks as soon as you want. If you just want to do it week by week that is fine, you can do all 4 or just as many parts as you feel like at any point.
Selections for the specific weeks comps have to be posted on this thread no later than 11.55pm on the Sunday night before the WPL turn for that week. This is because once in a blue moon Glynn sends out the turns a minute or two early.
The only time you will not score any points at all is if you have no entry that week. With anything from 1 to 4 weeks notice (depending on the comp) hopefully this will be rare.
This initial post will stay up all season but the entries will be "cleaned up" every 4 weeks to keep the thread from becoming too bulky.

Away Goals
All you need to do in this competition is predict how many away goals there are each week (extra time does count for weeks with cup games, penalty shoot outs do not count) in total across the whole of the WPL.
If you predict the exact amount you will be first or share first. If you are one away BELOW you will be second, one away ABOVE the number will be 3rd etc so you are rewarded for not going above the total number of away goals scored.

This is a comp where 8 games, 2 from each division, are posted and you pick 3 teams to "score" for you and 3 to "defend" for you.
You pick 3 for each and say the 3 you pick score 2, 2 and 3 you get 7. Then the 3 you have to defend concede 0, 2 and 3 scoring 5 you take the 5 from the 7 and you get 2 points for the week. Highest total points cumulated that week is first, then second etc
IMPORTANT - This seems to still confuse people : You can pick both teams in a match to score for you (if you think a game will be high scoring) or both teams in a match to defend for you (if you think a 0-0 bore draw is likely). This is fine as you can be wrong and any scoreline could result. You CANNOT pick both teams in a game with one defending and one attacking as this will always result in a zero scoreline as you have in effect guaranteed your result as one side will cancel out the other. Because scoring a zero could be handy late in the season when defending a lead it is simply not allowed.
Pick Eight
One division's fixtures will be posted on this thread - in strict rotation so week 3 Premier League, week 7 Division 1 etc.
All 8 matches will require predictions and every fully correct scoreline will be worth 5 points and every score the correct way but with the wrong number of goals will be worth two points. Points will be accumulated over the season and the winner will be the one with the most points.
Where possible on weeks with league and cup games being played there will be the usual 8 division based games plus up to 3 cup ties.
So for example if you predict Real Madrid will beat anyone (ever
) 3-0 and they surprise the world and actually win but only 2-1 you would get 2 points for saying they would win. If Mike forgot to send in his orders and Real had won 3-0 you would have got 5 points.Top Draw
Premise is simple enough, just predict how many draws there are in the Premier Division with 2 bonus points available for predicting ANY side that draws that week (just name one team for that week). Also to break up the scoring more you will be asked to predict one team NOT to draw so your entry will be a number (total number of draws) and then 2 teams (one to draw, one not, with each clearly labelled accordingly). The team not to score will also get you 2 points.
If you fail to get the number of draws right you can get 1 bonus point for each team you get right so say you say 4 draws and there are 3 you will get 2 points for the number and then a further 1 point for each team you correctly predict.
Scoring will be as follows -
Correct number of draws predicted = 5 points
1 away from the correct number of draws = 2 point
2 away from the correct number of draws = 0 points
3 away from the correct number of draws = -2 point
4 or more away from the correct number of draws = -5 points
Team to draw and team to not draw - 2 points each if you get the number of draws right, 1 point each if you get the number of draws wrong
